Lisa Ackerman, MS, CNS

Functional Medicine Nutritionist
Pronouns: She/her/hers

Lisa works with clients who want to find optimal health but are confused about where to start or are feeling stuck by the vague advice their doctor gave them. She uses a personalized approach to empower clients with their goals of feeling better, having more energy, and being able to participate in life. She practices from a place of empathy, without judgment or fear-based tactics, and instead works with clients to achieve goals.

Lisa found her passion for nutrition at an early age when experimenting with different dietary approaches and culinary forays, and since then she has been on a journey to figure out how to regain health, how to find an intuitive way to eat, and also how to help others do the same.

She holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut and is always looking for ways to learn more about the ever-changing field of nutrition, including in the areas of the gut microbiome, mental health, and metabolic wellness.

Lisa’s Areas of Focus include:

  • Chronic Metabolic and Inflammatory Disorders (diabetes and blood sugar management, high cholesterol, hypertension)
  • Digestive Health & the Gut Microbiome
  • Nutrition to Support Mental Health
  • Autoimmune Disorders
  • Sports Nutrition

In her free time, she is hopefully lounging in a hammock by an alpine lake with her husband and two dogs or making all of the snacks and mocktails for various life pursuits (because the best things in life require snacks).
