Introducing the Peri + Menopause Program

The transition into menopause can be filled with uncertainty. Symptoms can vary from person to person and, understandably, family history and past health history certainly play a role in what symptoms manifest, and when!

Some common symptoms experienced in perimenopause and menopause can include:

  • Hot flashes, night sweets, fatigue, insomnia, heart palpitations, or rapid heartbeat
  • Digestive problems, such as bloating
  • Osteoporosis, joint pain, or “frozen shoulder”
  • Weight gain or increased abdominal adiposity
  • Depression, anxiety, mood swings, irritability or rage, and brain fog
  • Vaginal dryness, loss of libido, irregular periods, and breast tenderness

Additionally, the decreasing amounts of estrogen during this transition can also make one more susceptible to cardiovascular disease risk and bone loss.

We do know that diet and exercise can play a role in management of symptoms. But, what if a client already struggles with depression or anxiety, prior to perimenopause? Or has existing digestive issues, such as IBS? Oftentimes, the hormone fluctuations during perimenopause can make these conditions worse.

A common frustration we hear from our perimenopause and menopause clients is the lack of personalized care. Many are told that it’s just part of aging. However, we believe that examining the whole person and their unique health concerns is crucial to providing relief from perimenopause and menopause symptoms.

With this in mind, we created our Peri+Menopause program.

This 8-week, live session program officially begins on September 24th, 2024. Each session is led by Dr. Lea McKinstry, ND, and Julie Starkel, MS, MBA, LDN, the founder of Starkel Nutrition. Many Washington-based insurance plans can cover the cost of the program, too.

We hope to see you there!
